Issue List: Issue: Ability to turn off HTML editor
Issue 10
| Title | Ability to turn off HTML editor |
| Status | Fixed |
| Priority | High |
| Description | Many screen reader users have suggested that the ability to disable the HTML Editor is the only solution they can see at this point. Would like to see this as a user preference that only needs to be set once. Also makes sense to add the “image,” html link, and html view buttons to the “basic” interface. |

| Section | We have updated the Edit icon associated with the HTML Editor so that it shows two states: “Show Editor for [field]” and “Hide Editor for [field]” to help users recognize when they are moving into and out of the editor. We have submitted a feature request for this issue that details the benefits for screen reader users and are actively working on prototypes. We acknowledge that turning off the HTML Editor, but allowing HTML content could result inaccessible or poorly structured HTML to be uploaded. No release date has been scheduled. |
