| Section | We recently reviewed dropdown menus in the Learning Environment and added Apply/Go buttons to fields that were identified as unusable by screen reader or keyboard users. There are still areas that use dropdown menus without an Apply/Go button. We believe that changing the design of these dropdown menus will negatively impact the usability of the functionality. The dropdown menus always include descriptive text as the first option so that keyboard and screen reader users are not redirected on entry. Users can navigate the dropdown using Shift and the arrow keys. We provide tips on using dropdown menus in our Accessibility Quick Start Guide. |
