  • MS: Has there been any update on the Section 508 requirements
  • JG: I was not able to go to the sessions
  • JG: The WCAG group, one person was suprised someone has not developed design oriented documents for accessible design
  • MS: Bill what do like about the current IITAA standards?
  • BH: The illinois resources provided more design information

Discussion of IITAA 1.0 Versus WCAG 2.0
  • JG: What are the biggest differences
  • KH: Ordering of compliance requirements for forms and headings will be much different
  • JG: Do you need to understand WCAG 2.0 to be accessible
  • MS: Where do we start, with techniques or design practices, what gets written in the design standards
  • MS: The Section 508 requirements have there own standards, but allow WCAG 2.0 compliance
  • MS: MR has the IITAA 2.0 to WCAG 2.0 map
  • KH: I have created a checklist of IITAA/WCAG 2.0 checklist, for use as a VPAT for products
  • KH: I will send it out
  • JG: Can we use the 508 update and say that we can have a option to comply with WCAG 2.0
  • MS: We can do that
  • MS: Our scope is bigger than the web, and I was hoping Section 508
  • JG: I think updating the current standard
  • JG: Lets review these documents for tomorrow
  • NH: Can we have more than one view of the document
  • HR: This would be useful, but will take more time
