Minutes

Changes to FAEs
  • Changed the two scripting rules to Pass/Warning
  • The issue of versioning rule sets now that we are making changes to the rules
  • The system looks good
  • Rule version is loosely base don date
  • New version will go live next week, unless comments are received

Data tables rule
  • The rule says that all cells in the first row or column must be headers
  • The accessibility requirements require that both rows and columns require TH elements
  • Where would the TH element be in the row?
  • One example is some complex budget tables for the state
  • The first column is used for ordering, this might require multiple TH element
  • First column maybe an index or number that may be the best TH
  • In credit card transaction tables, the first columns are usually programatic information
  • Assistive technology does not support access to tables that the first row does not contain headers
  • NH how difficult is it to change this rule next wednesday

Complex labeling of forms
  • What about using table markup, but table markup
  • Example wording is ok, even though some is redundant
  • The number should be first
